Peter Tosh was a founding member of Jamaican reggae legends the Wailers along with Bob Marley. With his rough-and-tumble sound and image, Tosh gave the early incarnation of the Wailers an edge that was informed by Ska and it's "Rude Boy" lifestyle. In the mid-70's he split from the group and he embarked on a solo career with the pro-marijuana album Legalize It. Unfortunately, in 1987, Tosh was gunned down during an incident at his home in Kingston, ending the life of a reggae innovator.

Digitally remastered and expanded two CD edition. Originally released by Creole Records in 1978, Roots, Rock Reggae primarily served as a showcase vehicle for the most recent productions of Phil Mathias and his Big Phil label. Comprising 14 tracks of the highest quality, the album featured some of Jamaica's leading talent, notably the In Crowd, Cornel Campbell, Sugar Minott, Delroy Wilson and Leroy Smart. Released in a number of countries around the globe, the LP proved a best-seller, but despite it's popularity and rich musical content, it subsequently remained unavailable until the early 1990s when it was re-issued in Germany in limited numbers. Now, at long last, this superb collection of high quality roots reggae is made available once more, with it's original track-listing augmented by the best of Mathias's remaining productions from the period.

Vinyl LP pressing. Bob Marley is the most recognized artist worldwide, whose music connects with people of all ages. People of all races. With everyone. His message of universal love and compassion and his political stance for equality and justice has resonated with people the world over. His ability to convey this message onto a lilting reggae beat enables people to easily assimilate the meaning of what he has to say. Mindful of this and the fact that U Roy had chatted on a version of the Wailers Trenchtown Rock 50 years ago, RAS Records founder Doctor Dread was inspired to go into the studio and have U Roy voice Marley tracks that Lee Perry had produced. With his affiliation to Sanctuary Records (who recently purchased both the Trojan and RAS Records catalogs), Doctor Dread was granted permission to use those tracks for this project, which he had envisioned so many years before. That day in the studio in Kingston was pure magic. The sole surviving member of the Wailers, Bunny Wailer, was on hand to experience this session as U Roy ripped through 14 songs in just four hours. The results are staggering and fulfill the demand of all successive artistic efforts- Make It New! So now with an amazing painting of the Rasta last supper gracing the back of the album cover and the musical notes flowing freely from a goblet on front, we are ready to present these remarkable recordings to all Bob Marley and music fans the world over.

Falling Into Place [Vinyl]

Vinyl: $17.98 UNAVAILABLE

MP3 Album: $9.99 Download

Vinyl LP pressing. A dozen years into Rebelution's stirring career, the release of the California reggae band's fifth album Falling Into Placefinds them more energized than ever. Touring relentlessly since 2014's Count Me In debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae chart, the band's members have expanded their songwriting horizons and recorded 11 tight new tracks that fuse an ever-youthful attitude of celebration with the mature perspective of men of the world. For Falling into Place, Rebelution's four core members - Rachmany, keyboardist Rory Carey, drummer Wesley Finley, and bassist Marley D. Williams - got some refreshing new perspectives by writing with different producers and writers and recording at multiple studios. For Rachmany, the creativity began with an inspirational trip to Jamaica, the birthplace of reggae, where he did some of the writing. Falling Into Place mingles stories of love gained and lost with reminiscences of years gone by ("Pretty Lady," "Those Days," "Santa Barbara") and socially pertinent songs like "Know It All," which challenges the hatred in an ever-more-violent world and a fraught political environment. Jamaican deejay and one time tour-mate Protoje adds guest vocals on "Inhale Exhale," an intense earworm celebrating the movement towards further legalization of marijuana.
