More Info:

2010 two CD collection from the British Soul vocalist containing his pre-Apple Records solo recordings plus the rare White Lady album from his short stint with Badger in 1974. Jackie Lomax was the lead vocalist and bass player with the Undertakers, a stomping Mersey beat outfit of the mid 1960's. at the end of 1965 Jackie joined the Lost Souls, with a name change in 1966 to Lomax Alliance. Brian Epstein came to New York and offered to manage Jackie Lomax as a solo artist but ended up signing the band. Tracks were recorded in New York and London for a single and an album, produced by John Simon. Only the single got released in the UK, and a different single under a different name in the U.S. Epstein's death curtailing further action for the band, but Lomax squeezed out a further solo single. At the end of 1973, Jackie Lomax joined Badger, a previously Prog Rock band originally formed by ex-Yes keyboard player Tony Kaye, and proceeded to turn them into his type of R&B/Soul band. The band became a vehicle for his songs and singing and they released one excellent LP, White Lady. Cherry Red.
